Man Trouble

We have plenty of males in our family and masculine birthday cards are always a challenge for me.  This one has lots of texture.  Embossing, sequin waste, hairy stringy braid (I 've had it for ages and never used it, I  think its very manly).  The transport EF lightly rubbed over with ink, chopped down to four images, and popped up with 3D foam tape.

Hugs Bunny

Hugs Bunny ... get it?   Not quite tiptoeing through the tulips, more like springing ...  Bunny is having a fine old time in the garden.  Even making this card made me feel happy and smiley.

The background is blues and greens DI's smooshed onto card, when dry stamped with plants.  The sentiment is stacked die cuts with a shadow. Bunny is diecut from copper metallic card, raised with 3D foam.  This is an unusual colour palette for me, but I like it.

Background is smooshed:

With Love Rose

Another card using a watercolour technique with Anna Griffiths stamp.  This stamp must be at least 15 years old and I'd never used it before.  Why? Maybe because it was so small, however it is perfect for this technique and for CAS style.

I made the base card slightly bigger on the back side and then cut the edge with fancy scissors.  I masked the edge a little way in and inked the edge in a darker pink.  The rose is stamped using DI's in a watercolour technique, then when dry, masked and splattered.

Stamp: Anna Griffin

Pineapple Sweet

Oh so juicy, always eat pineapple slightly warm. MmmmMm.

I stamped the green tag with white paint and bubble wrap, splattered black, then stamped over with text.  Painted some random green around the edges, stamped "relax" in green ink.  Stamped the pineapple set in layers on previously smooshed card and diecut.  Touched up the leaves with Copics, added 3D Kindyglitz to the cut pineapple.  The tag sentiment hangs free and is stamped double sided.

An old but beautiful stamp set from Anna Griffin.  I stamped watercolour style using DI's for the stamp and the splatter.

HM Stitched Up

WE want you to Get Stitched Up  at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.  See what the design team have made to inspire you, here:  housemouse-challenge

Firstly I made the background using Distress Inks and white acrylic paint splatters.  Diecut the leaf and stitched.  Fussy cut the image.  The image is from a CD and was already coloured, however I touched it up with Copics as it printed quite wishy-washy.  The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed with distress EP in rose-gold.  D/S tape placed along the bottom and glittered, the mouse placed with the flower coming up from it.  All placed on a black base card.  We are just coming into autumn here, hence the end of summer/autumny colours sunflower and falling leaf.

Flowery Frame

I like to have a stash of thank you cards ready to go.  I thought this was was quite springy with the flowery frame diecut from green textured card backed with marbled sky blue, and butterflies.  The butterflies are stamped onto scraps of patterned paper and fussy cut for a bit of fun and flutteryness.

Shamrock Cheers

A great digi paper, a shamrock-ish diecut and a bit of sparkle - just right for March celebration if you have a little Irish ... like most folk in NZ do.

The shamrock,  stalk and senti are all stacked.  The senti is misted with gold shimmer sparkle, and one layer is offset to form shadow.  The shamrock is adhered only in the centre so the leaf/petal is free.  Mounted on dark green pearlised base card.

Dies unknown:

Paper: digi download (unknown)

Also: Sheer Shimmer Spritz Sparkle gold (on senti, ment), iridescent green gem, gold glitter card

Tell Me Shamrock

A bit o' green, a bit o'stencilling, a bit o'impress embossing, a bit o'diecutting, and a bit o'inky goodness.

I made this for our daughter & son in law whose wedding anniversary is on St Patricks day.  That means it's spring in the northern hemisphere.

The base card is stencilled, the panel is made by inking one side of the EF before embossing.  Misted with gold Shimmer Spritz and finely splatter with black ink.  In the detail photo you can see the shimmer of gold at the top.  The hat edges are inked.

Bunch of Pink

A great stamp to do watercolour technique and get an informal painterly result..  I put areas of colour onto my glass mat (using the stamp as a guide for placement), dabbed them with paper to texturise, then printed the colour onto card.  When dry, I stamped and heat embossed.  Touched up some areas with paint such as the centre of the flower and some stems.  In the second photo you can see the iridescent effect of the paint.

Lime Cheers

What would be nicer than a birthday cocktail - clink, clink, drink!  Nice and cool for those of us "down under".  I found this fab paper and decided to use a fractionated stitched frame die to showcase it.  The drink in the glass is ombre paper (hardly shows in the photo), the patterned paper is inset.  The frame die is stitched but hardly shows in the pics.
