Be Awesome

Die Cut Divas anything goes challenge this month is sponsored by Kaisercraft with an amazing prize - check it out:
http://die-cut-divas.blogspot.co.nz/

The turquoise card is embossed and the high spots dabbed with white chalk ink. Feather is diecut and stencilled using a recycled manila folder.  The label is ready-to-use on a page with other sentiments.
I reckon this would make a great mancard.

Thanks Kaisercraft!

Birthday Trip

Well today is my hubby Ian's birthday and this is the card I made him.  I bought the stamp way back in April when we first bought this property and he knew he would need a ride on mower.  We moved in at the end of May.  Some of you know the saga of the mower on its first outing, and now, since it was fixed he has yet to complete his first entire mow because of the winter weather.

Anyway, he will look just like this on the mower in summer, but for now he wears a polar fleece jacket and boots.

Dream Big Feather

This month at Die Cut Divas we have an Anything Goes challenge:

And our sponsor is the wonderful Kaisercraft - get it here:

I made the feather first by rubbing crayons on card, then melting it with a heat gun.  Then I die cutting it, embossing and then stencilling through the die.
The background is an embossing folder that is rubbed over the high spots with Versamark ink, and clear embossed (I love this technique called embossed embossing at Splitcoast stampers).   The tag is from a patterned paper simply cut out,  a tulle knot added and all secured with a brad.  When I put the front onto the base card I decided to highlight the red tones by inserting scraps of red tulle to stick out.

Die: Kaisercraft Detailed Feather
EF: Kaisercraft: Triangles
PPaper: Kaisercraft - Passport
Also: crayons, clear EP, brad, scraps of black & red tulle.

Mustache Guy

Fathers Day or a mancard is the theme at Come And Get It challenges this time:
http://cagichallenge.blogspot.co.nz/

I chose this amazing image from our sponsor Bugaboo: http://www.bugaboostamps.com/Mustache-Guy_p_3557.html

Here he is with the tag out of its pocket:

After I printed the image, I diecut the tag at both ends using an oval die to get a lopsided effect, inked the edges, stamped the background and coloured him with copics.
The card is embossed, inked, and a pocket stuck on the front with a rosette.

Cupcake Birthday gift bag

Bloobel Stamps is the sponsor of this "For a Child" challenge at The Crafters CafĂ© - have a look at all the ideas the design Team have come up with:  http://crafterscafeblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/

I chose Bloobel's Birthday cupcake, get it here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/276446378/digi-digital-stamp-instant-download?ga_search_query=cupcake+birthday&ref=shop_items_search_1

These Bloobel images are so cool and fun to use.  This could be for any age male really, not just a child.

I coloured the image with copics, and stamped a sentiment at the top, then inked softly on the front and heavily on the edges.

I made the gift bag using We R Memory Keepers
bag maker.  I diecut the top with Spellbinders, and also a couple of tags in navy and olive green to embellish.  I used one on the flap and the others like tabs sticking out the side and glued stars (everyone is a star on their birthday!), and tied with olive green linen thread.
Great for stuffing with a gift.

Altered

Altered teacup.

My friend Jude and I made ourselves a pincushion each from an old teacup.  We also made the pins from random bits from the bead box,  and the roses from scraps of fabric.

How to:
Made the roses from torn strips of scrap fabric & lace and the leaves from bits of organza ribbon.
Made the puff stuffed with dacron filling, and hot glued it into the cup.
Hotglued the cup to the saucer, then arranged the roses and leaves before hot gluing them on.
The pins were just a packet of pearl-head pins from the dollar shop with odd beady bits arranged and glued in place.

This was a fun thing to do and such a lovely way to enjoy those 'lady' cups again - much better to enjoy them than to have wrapped up in storage.

Feather wishes

Anything goes this month at Die Cut Divas
http://die-cut-divas.blogspot.co.nz/
with wonderful sponsor Kaisercraft :
https://www.kaisercraft.com.au/newsite/index.php

Just look at this Kaisercraft patterned paper and feather die - woohoo!!

I made the  feather cut from card made by using Adirondak paint daubers on glossy cardstock, which kind of makes the paper thicker somehow.  I diecut the feather, embossed, then stencilled lightly through the die with distress ink.
I went for simple and a totally natural look with the feather, weathered paper and string.  I wanted the sentiment to look hand-done.  I think feathers always leave a message from birds:  I was here!

Die: Kaisercraft, detailed feather
P.Paper: Kaisercraft, Boho Dreams collection
Stamp: Tm Holtz/Sizzix
String: from stash

...will travel

At The Crafters CafĂ© this time the challenge is vacation, travel etc.  Check it out and see what the rest of the team has created:  http://crafterscafeblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/

LACY SUNSHINE is a sponsor and I chose this wicked image: Dare to be different.  Get it here:
http://lacysunshine.weebly.com/store/p1936/Tori-_Dare_to_Be_Different.html

I coloured the image with copics, then diecut bits here and there....  then I got distress inky - smudged & edged. I made the sentiment on the computer  and fastened it on with (have a closer look!) hot pink staples! I used bits and pieces of patterned paper along one edge to give it an industrial look.
Now she's ready to go ... have board, will travel!
